Post Sewing Expo
The Sewing and Stitchery Expo was a great success this year. My sister Pat helped me last the 4 long days and Bill helped with the loading and unloading. I sure have to conclude that sewing of all kinds is alive and well in the world. I love that and salute all of the women and men who enjoy designing, creating and making clothes and items for the home with their own hands. It is a pleasure to provide vintage and antique ideas and products for these creative minds.

Sewing and Stitchery Expo 2013
These winter sunsets are so fabulous here in the Puget Sound. We love it when we get a "sun break" and just stand back in awe! I have enjoyed a few days of this but now I am gearing up for The Sewing and Stitchery Expo in Puyallup, Washington. Luckily it is only about 30 miles away. My sister, Pat, is coming up from Texas on Monday. We move in Wednesday and the show starts Thursday, February 28th and runs through Sunday. It is long hours and lots of work but we love seeing the customers year after year and somehow that makes it all worthwhile. Being one of only 2 or 3 vendors with antique and vintage sewing items and buttons, we do pretty well. I promise to take lots of pictures and post them in a week or so. Or, maybe you can make it!

February brings two shows my way. This weekend Bill and I will be doing the Ocean Shores Antique Show in Ocean Shores, Washington. I take lots of sewing collectibles (and some you can use too) and buttons. We also bring fantastic antiques and Bill's antique carpentry tools. He has collected them for a long time.
February 28th through March 3rd is the humongous Sewing and Stitchery Expo at the Puyallup Fairgrounds in Puyallup, Washington. It's really huge and this is it's 29th year. I think this is my 9th year and boy do I love it! With Bill and my sister Pat to help me, I just may pull it off again and can't wait to see all of my favorite customers as well as the new faces. There are many, many classes, door prizes and anything you could possibly think of in the sewing arena. The website is www.sewexpo.com.
Recently I put more sewing items on Etsy so swing by that corner of the internet and have a peak. Just go to Etsy and then Stitchesintime1.

I am really enjoying my new Etsy Shop. I am trying to get lots of items on and when I do I promise to take time for this Blog. I would like to do more articles on sewing collectibles partly because I find that talking about this field of antiques puts a smile on my face and a spring in my step.
This weekend I am going to Coburg, Oregon for the annual Coburg Quilt Show. It's a one day show so we set up at 7:00 in the morning and break down at 4:00. Whew! It should be loads of fun and I hope to see lots of friends and customers. I will be taking many wonderful sewing collectibles!

Great February Shows!
It was a great time at the Ocean Shores Antiques Show, Valentine weekend. The weather was wet and cold so the crowd really turned out. Then the weather got nice so it was perfect. I met some nice folks that were collecting sewing items and buttons. I also met some great crafters who know just how to use the wonderful vintage and antique items I sell.
This weekend is the Sewing and Stitchery EXPO 2010. Hope to see everyone there and we'll find something in my antique and vintage items just right for that project you've been planning. Remember the show is Thursday through Sunday.

Two weekends in a row is a bit much but I really enjoyed doing the Monroe Antique Show last weekend and the Palmer Wirfs Antique Show in Puyallup this weekend. Sales on sewing collectible remain a bit sluggish but it's still the best game in town as far as I am concerned. Buttons are always great fun for me because I love sorting, carding, and crafting with them and of course I love selling them.
There will be no more shows for me this year as I am going to go down to sunny Texas for a while and visit my family in Weatherford.
November 14Th and 15Th is our bi-annual "Haggle Day Sale" at The Tacoma Antique Center at Fife here in Washington. It is great fun because on Saturday most of the dealers come and haggle over the prices with you. Every booth has some kind of sale and we have wonderful snacks and beverages. The mall never looked better and wonderful, wonderful treasures are waiting for your viewing and shopping pleasure. See you there!

Where does all of the blogging time go? Let's see if we can catch up. October 16 and 17th I did the Dancing With the Stars Quilt show at the Thurston Country Fairgrounds. It was a beautiful, friendly show and I enjoyed seeing all of the quilt creations.
This weekend Oct 31st and Nov 1st I'll be doing the Monroe Antiques Show with a friend of mine, Linda Morrison. This show is also at the fairgrounds in Monroe and it's just a lovely old fashioned antique show with wonderful antique merchandise. See you there?
Like my sunsets? They are our view from Steilacoom.

New Adventure
This is Centralia, Washington, the site of my new booth. Pacific Galleries reopened this mall under the name of VINTAGE & NEW TREASURES. The town of Centralia is full of beautiful old buildings and flower lined streets. There are many antique stores and antique malls. I have already enjoyed several of their great eating establishments and they have all been first rate.
My booth is a hodgepodge of china, kitchenware, jewelry, post cards, Victorian papers, sheet music, sewing items, advertising, and as always, lots of old prints and pictures.
If you haven't seen Centralia, you've missed great antiquing and lots of history.
PS You can come by train!
